Brighamia insignis | Hawaiian Palm
Brighamia insignisÂ
Brighamia insignis or the Hawaiian Palm is as the name suggests native to the islands of Hawaii. In the wild, it’s critically endangered but due to it’s commercialisation is now available in large quantities. Despite the common name of Hawaiian Palm, it isn’t infact a palm and is instead a succulent type plant with a large bloated stem, topped with a rosette of leaves. It may also flower in your care with beautiful yellow flowers held on long flowering stalks.
